Found this Tervis 16oz Tumbler when I started brewing tea. It’s technically too big for the tea brewer I’ve bought, but that tea maker is adaptable. And it fits nicely in the cup holder for my desk that I ordered later. The handle is nicely sized, and I can fit all four fingers (or 3 fingers if wearing gloves) in there.
The cover is marketed as sip friendly, but turns out that was only partially true. There’s a slide lock that can keep contents closed and steaming, and if you open the slide lock you expose a small vent hole and steeping crack. In my experience, it doesn’t quite control the liquid coming out, but YMMV.
The cup is supposed to be glass and while I didn’t throw it on the ground, I have dropped it once or twice from desk height, and it’s fine. Although not with liquid inside. Maybe it made a difference. I didn’t really want to test how leakproof the lid is. This should be sufficient for most use cases.
Note: This tumbler is narrower at the bottom, so it’s not really stable, and the larger and lower handle will make it unsuitable for auto-use as it will have a hard time fitting into cup holders that don’t have large” Handle Cutout”.
